Michael assisted our team as a project advisor in the early stages of our conversion from Vantage 6 to Epicor 10. He provided expert guidance in all aspects of the project—from defining project scope, planning and budgeting to performing gap analysis and user acceptance testing. At times, we found working with the vendor challenging. Michael worked closely with Epicor to ensure that we received the support we needed. Due to unanticipated personnel changes, we asked Michael to step in and manage the project at its midpoint. After our Epicor consultant got stuck with many of our data issues, we were introduced to Michael and advised that he should spend a week with us. He uncovered many issues that we knew about, and some that we didn't. After a week, many of our issues went away. His timecards and daily analysis were detailed and there were never questions about what he was working on. When we changed the scope on him he was able to accommodate us. Because of Michael's knowledge about data conversation and interactions in modules, I recommend working with him as early into the data conversion process as possible. Shortly after going live with Epicor, we encountered unexpected data problems that were interfering with MRP. Epicor recommended that we have Michael Thompson evaluate our database. In a very short time, Michael identified the critical issues, designed and tested a data-safe method for implementing the changes, and executed the plan in our production system. The site was on a ten-year-old version of Epicor, which had not been maintained or supported. Previous efforts to upgrade to Epicor 9 had failed and the project had stalled. Michael Thompson came on to support data migration and quickly took on a project manager and a system consultant role—serving also as liaison between the site and Epicor—to drive the project to completion. He provided valuable guidance and insight and worked diligently, expeditiously, and relentlessly thru the issues to overcome major obstacles in MRP, scheduling, and production. He also recommended and lobbied on our behalf with Epicor to bring on subject matter experts to focus on specialized problems, always in tuned to the needs of our site to again push resolution.
